Your home's air is more polluted than you think. Here are three best air purifiers I've tested - all on sale for Prime Day
Winix, Shark and Dyson all make air purifiers that can improve the quality of air in your home – and they have great Prime Day discounts

When it comes to your health at home, air quality is not a factor to overlook. Pollen, smoke, pet dandruff and cooking fumes are all particulates that can affect your home’s hygiene. And if you live in affected parts on the US, climate change is making wildfire season more intense, adding more ozone at ground level.
Lots of air purifier brands promise to improve air quality, but hide their performance behind jargon. But don’t worry, I’ve got over a decade of experience testing air purifiers, both in a home and lab setting, to help you cut through the marketing haze.
You need to look at three factors: the filter types, size and cost. For the average American home, the ideal air purifier will have:
A pre-filter that prevents pet and human hair from prematurely clogging the main filter
A HEPA or HEPA-like filter that removes fine particulates from the air
A carbon medium for dealing with odors
When it comes to size, air purifiers are rated for varying square footage, ranging from your personal space to an entire floor of your home.
Finally, there’s cost, and since it’s Prime Day, some worthwhile deals are out there – if you know what to look for.

The best Prime Day 2026 air purifier deals
Winix 5510 Air Purifier
Winix has a stellar reputation, and the 5510 is a prime example of why. It has a pre-filter, a carbon filter and a real HEPA filter. On top of all that, it has a PlasmaWave feature, an ionizing technology that zaps very fine particulates and certain volatile organic compounds (VOCs), such as those from paints and cleaning supplies. During our time testing it, we really liked how quickly it dealt with strong odors.
Not only is this a powerful air purifier that scrubs the air in a 1,800 sq ft room in an hour, but it’s currently at the lowest price we’ve seen all year. That’s one major reason the Winix 5510 tops our Prime Day favorites. Another is that this model is filled with great features such as the ability to start it from your phone, and a built-in smart sensor that automatically adjusts the fan to changing conditions. For example, if you start cooking, the fan may kick up to deal with the residual odor and smoke.
Shark NeverChange Air Purifier
The Shark NeverChange has features that you never thought you needed, but make so much sense once you use them. It gets its name from the NeverChange filter, which is rated to run 12 hours a day for five years in a 300sqft room. Plus, it has a Febreze-like nebulizer that can mask odors and fill the room with a fresh scent. Finally, it has an easy-to-read air quality display. It’s great if you’re interested in learning more about changes in air quality within your home.
We like the NeverChange because not only does it have fancy features, but it also takes care of the fundamentals. It has pre-filters that are easy to clean, an activated carbon layer and a HEPA filter. We also liked that it’s only about 11in wide and 15in tall, meaning it can operate without getting in the way.

Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool HP1
Even for Prime Day sales, the Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool HP1 looks pretty pricey at first. However, you’re getting a fan, a space heater and an air purifier all rolled into one. If you’re looking for the Swiss Army Knife of air purifiers, this is the one you’ll keep out all year-round.
In the world of home goods, Dyson always delivers high quality. We appreciated the oscillation settings while testing this purifier. You can set it to turn between 45 degrees and 350 degrees. When it’s in fan or space heater mode, that feature lets you toggle between heating and cooling yourself or the whole room at the touch of a button. On the air purifying front, the HP1 isn’t a slouch. It has a carbon filter to capture odor-causing particles, a true HEPA H-13 filter to remove fine particulates and a pre-filter to catch hair.

Honorable mention: Dyson Purifier Cool Gen1 TP10 Purifying Fan
If you want Dyson quality at a more affordable price, you need to check out the Dyson Purifier Cool Gen1 TP10. It has many of the same performance features as the Hot+Cool HP1: it can oscillate on multiple settings, purify the air and act as a personal fan. The TP10 lacks a heating element or smart features, but if you have central heating, it won’t be a major loss.
