Flossing can be yucky. I hate sticking my fingers in my mouth, dealing with icky strings or stabbing the gaps between my teeth with those little plastic swords that pile up in the trash. Water flossers solve those problems and then substitute their own: I hate how they dribble water down my face every time I use them.

So when I first tried the Flaus electric flosser, which claims to effortlessly glide between teeth with the same type of vibrations that power an electric toothbrush, I remained hopeful yet skeptical. Three years later, I’d have a hard time living without it. It’s so effective, I look forward to seeing the evidence of its sonic vibrations in what comes out of my teeth (sorry to be so gross) every time I use it.

If you’ve also been looking for a floss upgrade, right now it’s on sale for $90 during Amazon Prime Week, down from its usual $119.

Why do I love the Flaus Electric Flosser?

I’m lazy. There, I said it. I brush twice a day with my electric Sonicare toothbrush, but when it comes to flossing, I used to do it only when I remembered. And sometimes I didn’t even do it then … unless I was going to the dentist and didn’t want to get yelled at.

Flaus is a cleaner, easier alternative that makes flossing so rewarding that I use it twice a day, every day, and sometimes come back for more after meals. The ergonomic design is easy to grasp and angle into your mouth, and you can select from 10,000, 14,000 or 18,000 sonic vibrations a minute, depending on your comfort level. It sits on my bathroom counter next to my toothbrush; comes in four different colors; charges via USB and can easily fit in my bag when I travel.

Unlike traditional floss that gets tossed after one use, Flaus heads can be reused, but not forever. They come in two types: Gliding and Woven. The first was created for tighter spaces and comfort, while the latter is 200% stronger and lasts longer. I’ve tried them both and prefer the Woven heads because I only have to switch them out about once a week. (I do clean them out after every use under scalding hot water.) Flaus designed its heads to be recycled, but you can’t just toss them in with your milk jugs – you’ll need to request a prepaid mailer from the company.

Amazon is offering a 20% discount on both models of Flaus heads as well, so you may want to stock up. A pack of 90 goes for $14.99 on sale.
