The high drama of snowy sports isn’t over just yet! It’s now the turn of the Winter Paralympics, with its opening ceremony at the Arena di Verona. Look out for GB curler Jo Butterfield, who is hoping to be the first British athlete to win at the summer and winter games. This year, hosts Ade Adepitan, Billy Monger and Ed Jackson are joined by GB’s most decorated Paralympian, Sarah Storey, and multi-gold medallist swimming champion Alice Tai. Hollie Richardson

The year is young and spring is about to burst forth. This final compilation will put you in the mood as Monty Don revisits stories from the past year. In the concluding part of this short but wide-ranging series, the naturalist is in St Lucia, South Africa, where hippos wander the streets at night. The Okavango delta in Botswana is teeming with life, particularly when the annual flood rolls in, and a roaming group of male lions seem keen to muscle in on the territory. Seth MacFarlane’s potty-mouthed stoner bear is back for a second run of this crude 90s prequel series. John (Max Burkholder) is starting senior year with Ted in tow, and harbours hopes of becoming “cooler”. Cue a lot of penis jokes, bong action and a game of Dungeons & Dragons. HR

Film choice

The Thin Red Line (Terrence Malik, 1998), 9pm, Great! Action

After 20 years away, the return of Terrence Malick to film-making caused a fervour of anticipation. Luckily, his loose 1998 adaptation of James Jones’s second world war novel is a resplendent, exhilarating experience. The body-strewn progress of a US infantry battalion up a hill heavily defended by Japanese troops on the Pacific island of Guadalcanal is interspersed with existential musings by the soldiers – hopes, fears, memories – that speak to a loss of innocence on the battlefield. A ridiculously stacked cast includes Jim Caviezel, Sean Penn, Elias Koteas and Ben Chaplin. Simon Wardell
